Once the cats ate fish, then they got a delicious taste of eating fish. After that, they want to eat fish every day, and they are habituated to eating fish.

If you have ever seen a cartoon, you may have noticed that cats are always in the habit of eating fish.

But why do cats love eating fish?

Cats developed an experiment for fishing when ancient Egyptians lured them. After that, they understand fish is good for cats because of their high protein and taurine content.

Cats need many proteins; they like to eat fish and do not want to eat any vegetarian food. If you have a cat in your home, you will notice that your cat loves to eat fish grills.

Is it OK for cats to eat fish?

Cats are carnivores, so they need animal protein sources for optimal health. Sometimes fish is not acceptable for daily eating. Fish contains high levels of fatty acids, and it’s harmful to cats’ bodies. Several cats actually have allergies to fish, as well as beef and beef milk. Even a few cats do not eat raw fish. Yet most of the cats love to eat beef milk, milk, and fish.

However fish is beneficial for the cat’s body, but sometimes it’s dangerous for your cats. Wild cats especially like to eat fish, and they tend to eat raw fish.

Can cats eat cooked fish?

Cats like to eat raw fish the most. They also love to eat fish fry and dry fish. Cats eat more tilapia among all fish. Smelly fish is always alluring for cats. 

Unfortunately, raw fish can contain bacteria that can harm your cat. Sometimes you should cook fish for your cats because some raw fish is a threat to cats. Tuna and salmon fish should not eat raw cause they contain plenty of protein, amino acids, omega 3 fatty acids, antioxidants, nutrients. Tuna & salmon are good for healthy cats. But tuna and salmon should be cooked for your cats feeding. 

Why do cats like fish but not water?

Cats cannot swim and think they are not safe in the water; thus, they are afraid of water.

Cats hate water, so they don’t hunt fish themselves. Cats do not enter deep water; they are decent swimwear.

A wild cat will naturally not choose fish as its first choice, as they have an aversion to it. The locals used to feed wild cats tuna fish and salmon to lure them into their homes. Once cats tasted great, they would live and turn into pets. Like humans, cats can be addicted to certain foods.
